Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was hospitalized in an emergency on Saturday. He is in good condition and is undergoing a medical evaluation.» The Sheba Medical Center is the largest hospital in Israel and is located in the city of Ramat Gan, near Tel Aviv.
The 73-year-old prime minister was transferred to the hospital from his home in Caesarea after inform his relatives that he was not feeling well, according to the Israeli media. His doctor, Zvi Berkowitz, made the decision as a precautionary measure. Netanyahu had spent the day on Friday in the Sea of Galilee, in the north of Israel, which is being hit by a scorching heat wave with temperatures of up to 35 degrees, explained a second statement from his office that did not rule out this contingency for the health problem of the prime minister.
In the afternoon, it was reported that the tests «showed normal findings», and the initial evaluation was that he was dehydrated, but that, however, he would undergo further evaluations to rule out other possible ills. Opposition leader Yair Lapid tweeted a statement wishing Netanyahu a «full recovery and good health.»
Netanyahu, who was re-elected late last year, heads a far-right coalition whose proposed judicial review has sparked weekly demonstrations since January.
